This proof is harder than the previous one, If you want to find out the error, at least level of F4 Additional Mathematics is required, It is conspicuous that 1 does not equal 0. If 1 were to equal 0, computers would never be invented. However, what's wrong with the above proof? Don't you discover that?
Actually, it is testing us the basic concept of taking square roots. The above proof is all correct until step 7. If two real numbers equal each other, the square of them must equal each other but we should notice that the converse of this is not absolutely true.
From step 6, we know that L.H.S = R.H.S. Once taking square roots of both sides, there should be two answers. One is L.H.S = R.H.S and the another one is L.H.S = -R.H.S. In this case, impossible answers will be rejected.

Ha,,,the above analysis seems to be right but what's wrong with the calculations? It is undeniable that 1 does not equal 2 but what 's wrong ? Do you know that? Actually the above proof is playing a trick on you and me. It has performed a division of zero on step 6. Don't you discover that? On step 6, both sides are divided by (b-a) but b = a according to step 2 which is given , indicating that (b-a) equals 0. Therefore, the above proof has collapsed totally beyond step 6. Thus, the conclusion 1 = 2 must be wrong.

任天堂曾聲稱NDS遊戲《成人腦力鍛煉》經過科學研究證實有鍛煉大腦的效果,有關遊戲負責教授實驗數據顯示玩有關腦力遊戲可提升小學生數學成績(大公報http://www.takungpao.com.hk/news/07/11/04/KJXZ-818582.htm) 但包括川島隆太的恩師和學友在內的其他相關研究人員都有關科研結論提出異議和否定。川島隆太本人在接受《朝日週刊》採訪時也坦承「不能保證對大腦真的有改善效果」,即使有效果,也僅限於癡呆症患者。
任天堂將遠未得到科學界承認的所謂鍛煉效果作為產品賣點大肆進行廣告宣傳,有利用虛假宣傳蓄意欺騙消費者之嫌。我們作為消費者,不能容忍任何使用虛假資料作宣傳商業行為,而是次事件更涉及錯誤運用科學實驗數據誤導市民大眾,這種行為是完全違反作為一個科學家的專業操守,絕對是不道德的。
科學是對真理的追求,是對學問的渴望,是客觀和理性的。科學絕不能容忍任何作假行為,因為我們不能預計其帶來的後果。我們有可能把一些錯誤的、荒謬的理論當成真理,這與科學精神是背道而馳的。
曾被韓國人視為「複製先鋒」的黃禹錫先生已經是一轟動全城的做假先例。
韓國調查人員表示,該國科學家黃禹錫年初刊登在《科學》雜誌上的、有關幹細胞研究的一個具有重大突破性進展的研究論文是偽造的。他刊載於《科學》雜誌上的論文數據屬於「故意偽造」,複製的11個幹細胞中至少有9個是偽造的。

其次,科學實驗的結果與結論是建立在信任專業的基礎上,我們一般人是沒有可能重做科學家所做的實驗,因此我們對科學家有道德要求。作為一個科學家應對社會大眾負責,確保其言論、研究數據與事實相符,把真相和原理揭示出來。
運用研究數據誤導市民以達宣傳效果絕對不是一位科學家應有的行為。
我們對科學作假表示強烈譴責,而有關行為是否違法也是一個疑問。本港法例第362章-商品說明條例-第7條列明:任何人如在營商過程或業務運作中將虛假商品說明應用於任何貨品,或供應或要約供應已應用虛假商品說明的貨品,即屬犯罪。因此,是次事件已經涉及法律問題,任天堂和有關代理商有可能被起訴。
As a student who has studied science for more than 5 years, I strongly condemn what 任天堂 had done. Using fake or unproved scientific result is a dangerous action since we do not know what consequences are brought by that. As a scientist, which is acknowledged as professional , we should take the responsibility for showing the truth to the public. Using fake figures for the sake of increasing profits is absolutely immoral in any cases.
